You’re onto something good. What you are about to discover is a way of eating which will empower you to nourish yourself optimally,
achieve a healthy weight, and bring out the best performance your body is capable of. Dieting doesn’t work in the long run, but sound
nutrition and a healthy mindset do work.
The weight loss and supplement industries would love you to believe that there are secret formulas and magic tactics to weight loss or
elite sports performance. The hard truth is, no one has the magic pill, and no person or product, (even if they promise you the sun and
moon) will do it for you. But the wonderful news is that you can do this for you. And even better, the benefits are all yours. All you need
is the right information, explained clearly and in human terms. That’s what I’m going to share with you. Oh, and mouthwatering recipes,
of course.
If you’re ready to feel more energetic, and want to make your body healthier and leaner for a lifetime, then you have found the right
place to start. Healthy living isn’t about deprivation; it’s about filling up your belly and your life with good stuff. And by good stuff, I
mean nourishing, fulfilling food, physical activity that you enjoy, and supportive people who inspire you.
Don’t diet. Life is short. Fuel up.
If you just want some delicious healthy meal ideas, feel free to jump straight to the recipes section and make a beeline for the kitchen. If
you’re looking for a little more guidance on improving your eating habits step by step, I recommend starting off by reading the
Foundations for Healthy Eating, and explore from there.

About the Author
Hi, I’m Georgie Fear, a Registered Dietitian from Northern Colorado.
In addition to my job as a clinical dietitian at a hospital, I also maintain AskGeorgie.com, a website dedicated to
helping people achieve better health, performance and fitness through nutrition. I have previously worked as Sports Nutritionist for Rutgers University Athletics, Nutrition
Director for a personal training studio, and taught a variety of college courses in basic and sports nutrition.
When I first published Dig In, in 2009, I was pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming response. I received letters of thanks from people across the US (and Canada!) telling me how much they loved it, often reporting that they had lost weight, reduced their reliance on diabetes or blood pressure medications, or simply enjoyed having new flavors and options for their healthy diet.
After more than a year of work, I am incredibly excited about the collection of recipes in Fuel Up. If you have even a fraction of the fun reading it and cooking the recipes as I did developing them, you’re in for a treat – and I’ll consider this project a success.
There’s a lot more than just recipes here, though – I also added a hefty section of advice on how you can plan your meals like a pro, using the same proven strategies I use with my clients and athletes, and follow myself.
